I checked the Zestimate for my home and the value shown was nowhere near accurate. At first I thought it might just update on its own, but the numbers were so off that I ended up having to escalate the issue. It was frustrating because something like this can really mislead people looking at the property

"Pricing is confusing and the site only works when it wants to"
I wanted Zillow to make things easier, but the pricing info felt kind of all over the place. I’d see one number in one spot, then a different estimate or fee somewhere else, so it was hard to know what was actually accurate. On top of that, the site feels like it works when it wants to, which just adds to the frustration when you’re trying to figure out a real budget.

"Not worth the ad spend for me tbh"
I paid for ads on Zillow and tbh, I just didn’t see much come back from it.
At first the clicks looked decent, but the leads were weak. A lot of them felt like people just browsing around, not anyone actually ready to talk or move forward lol.

Maybe it works better in other markets, idk, but for me the value was way off. For what it cost, I’d rather put that budget somewhere else.

I used Zillow once and then suddenly started getting nonstop spam calls. Like, why is this so complicated? I was just trying to look at homes, not have my phone blown up all day. it was really annoying and not worth the hassle.

I checked zillow and it made the area seem quiet and safe, but, uh, that really wasn’t the full picture. There were loud streets close by and a few blocks that felt sketchy. I don’t think I’d trust their neighborhood info again.

"Lost trust after scam listings stayed up"
I reported what was clearly a scam listing, but it stayed up way longer than it should have. that really bothered me. If scams can sit there after being reported, how am I supposed to trust the platform? It makes me second-guess using it at all.

"Filters feel like they work… until they don’t"
I’ll set my filters for price, number of bedrooms, and the type of place I’m actually looking for, and at first it seems like zillow gets it. Then I start scrolling and suddenly I’m seeing rentals, homes way over my budget, or places in areas I never picked. It’s confusing because sometimes the results are close, but then a bunch of random ones get mixed in. Makes the whole search feel way more frustrating and time-consuming than it needs to be.

"Saved searches are an absolute lifesaver"
I’m telling you, Zillow alerts are 100% one of the best things for house hunting. I didn’t have to sit there refreshing listings all day like a maniac, and I still caught new places pretty much right away. A few of the emails were repeats, sure, but it made the whole process way easier. I’m completely convinced I would’ve missed half the good listings without it.

"Useful, but privacy and ownership feel murky"
I use Zillow a lot to look up homes and get a rough idea of prices, and it’s helpful for that. But I’m not a fan of how much info it feels like they’re collecting. After browsing around, I started seeing way more real estate ads everywhere, which was a little annoying. I also wish it was clearer who actually owns or controls certain listing info and data, because it can feel kind of vague. It’s not a terrible experience, but the privacy settings really need to be easier to find and understand.

"Application process was okay, but a little clunky"
Applying through Zillow started off easy, but a few parts got annoying. I had to go back and double-check my info more than once, and the upload steps weren’t super clear. That part was weird because I wasn’t always sure if everything actually went through. It worked out in the end, but I expected it to be a smoother process

I paid through Zillow thinking everything was settled, then extra fees popped up afterward that I wasn’t expecting. It’s frustrating because I feel like I lost money I wouldn’t have agreed to spend if I’d known upfront. I reached out to support, but the replies felt like copy-and-paste answers and didn’t really address the issue. Definitely left a bad taste, and I don’t think I’ll use it again.

I really wanted zillow leads to work, but wow, it felt like I was chasing ghosts half the time. Most of the people either never replied, didn’t seem serious at all, or acted like they had accidentally clicked something and had no idea why I was reaching out. It was exhausting and kind of maddening to spend that much time following up with people who clearly weren’t ready or even interested. For what it costs, I expected a lot better. I’m not saying every single lead was terrible, but overall it just felt nowhere near worth it.

"School info was wrong and super confusing"
I was using Zillow to look for a place, and school zones were a huge deal for us. The listing showed one school on the home page, but when I checked with the district, they said the address actually goes to a different school. Like, give me a break, that is not a small detail to mess up.
I understand info can change, but school assignment is something people really rely on when choosing a home. I ended up having to call the district myself and double-check everything, which was annoying and stressful. Zillow really needs to do a better job keeping that kind of information accurate.

"Pretty frustrating to use lately"
Zillow has been kind of a pain for me lately. Pages take forever to load, my filters randomly reset, and then I’ll click on a listing and it’s not even close to what I searched for.
The map is probably the most annoying part. It jumps around so much that I lose track of what I was looking at, and comparing homes turns into this whole hassle. I thought it would be quick and simple, but yeah, it just ends up wasting a lot of time.

“Zillow's main function is to gather your personal information. If you decide to discontinue or decline payment for their subpar service, they resort to employing deceitful individuals who pose as potential tenants, buyers, or sellers. These individuals fail to provide any form of identification and proceed to post negative reviews. Zillow is an extremely unsatisfactory website.”

“I strongly advise against using Zillow under any circumstances. I had a terrible experience when I listed an apartment for rent. Almost immediately, I discovered that either Zillow had sold access to my listing or their security measures were so poor that someone claiming to be a property management company hijacked my listing. I have been trying to investigate how this happened, but Zillow insists that the issue must be my fault. It is incredibly frustrating that there is no customer service phone number available in the US unless you are a paid advertiser, and their "support" is outsourced to low-wage call centers in third-world countries. Additionally, if you leave a negative review on their Facebook page, they simply delete it. After finally receiving an email from someone named "Sara," she instructed me to log into my account using the hijacker's email address and password in order to remove them. Furthermore, when attempting to deactivate my account, the provided link only takes you to the main page to purchase their services. There is no way to deactivate your account or delete your personal information, meaning that once they have it, they can sell it indefinitely. I cannot stress enough how terrible this company is, and I strongly urge you to avoid using their services.”

As native speakers, we are concerned about the lack of calls we are receiving from potential buyers for our listing. It seems that they are contacting the "Premier" Agents instead of reaching out to us directly!

“Why would you anticipate receiving a call from the buyer? In order for things to be handled correctly, buyers typically have their lawyer, representative, or realtor reach out to you. Therefore, when you choose to sell your property without an agent, you are essentially indicating that you do not have legal representation, while the buyer likely does.”
